At Mahaska Health The Patient Care Technicianparticipates with the interdisciplinary care team in the delivery of the patient's plan of care under the immediate supervision of the RN, including assisting with OB procedures, providing hands on patient care, and reporting pertinent information to the appropriate team members. Facilitates the smooth operation of the nursing unit by coordinating non-clinical operations such as maintenance of patient charts and unit records, the efficient processing of unit information, and maintenance of unit supplies.

Also directs and guides patient teaching, and provides assistance to the physician/nurse practitioner/physicians assistant in all aspects, while maintaining standards of professional nursing in accordance with the established methods and procedures of Mahaska Health Partnership and the Medical Group.
